A Summer Chalk Full of Festivals of the Musical Kind

This summer will now be known as the summer of live music.  There are almost two dozen or more festivals and more keep popping up on the radar.  And some great line ups too.  Some have a socio-political agenda like Rothbury is promoting the Green Initiative, while others are simply a big music soiree like Beale St.  So get out your calendar, crack open your piggy banks, change the oil in the old jalopy, pack a duffle bag, fill up your Starbucks card, and grab your Chuck Taylors and buckle-up for one extensively musical ride of a summer.  The Festivals are as follows (not in any particular order):

Summerfest - Milwaukee, WI (June 26 - July 6)
    featuring over 700 artists on 11 stages over 11 days, this is the Grand Daddy of festivals this summer!

Coachella - Indio, CA (April 25 - 27)
    featuring Jack Johnson, Roger Waters, Death Cab

Beale St Music Festival - Memphis, TN (May 2 - 4)
    featuring My Chemical Romance, Sheryl Crow, Santana, Fergie

The Bamboozle - Meadowlands, NJ (May 3 - 4)
    featuring  Snoop Dog, Panic at the Disco, Jimmy Eat World

Rock on the Range Festival- Columbus, OH (May 17 - 18)
    featuring Stone Temple Pilots, Kid Rock, 3 Doors Down

Left Bamboozle - Irvine, CA (April 5 - 6)
    featuring All American Rejects, My Chemical Romance, Jimmy Eat World, Paramore

Bonnaroo - Manchester, TN (June 12 - 15)
    featuring Pearl Jam, Metalica, Jack Johnson, Kanye West, Chris Rock, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss

Austin City Limits Festival - Austin, TX (September 26 - 28)

Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival - Lawrence, Kansas (June 5 - 8)

Sasquatch Music Festival - George, WA (May 24 - 26)

Monolith Festival - Red Rocks, CO (September 13 - 14)
     featuring artists to be announced (South Park Music Festival is partnering with Monolith)

Savannah Music Festival - Savannah, GA (March 20 - April 5)
    featuring Stewart Copeland, Ricky Skaggs, Bruce Hornsby, Derek Trucks Band
