U2: Some Rare Recordings to be Released in July

Re-release of the early U2 albums Boy, War and October will contain a plethora of rare unheard recordings due July 22nd.
  • U2's first album, Boy, will feature unreleased tracks "Speed of Life," "Saturday Night" and "Cartoon World" and a new mix of "I Will Follow." "Boy-Girl" and "11 O'Clock Tick Tock" are live versions recorded in London.
  • October hosts a number of tracks recorded live at Hammersmith Palais and Boston's Paradise Theatre, including a BBC session with Richard Skinner.
  • War is peppered with the unreleased track "Angels Too Tied to the Ground," a number remixes including "New Year's Day" and "Two Hearts Beat as One" plus the 7-inch single of NYD.
U2 is currently in the studio recording its next release with Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. No date has been set for the release, but rumors have it we should be seen it at the end of the year.  However, other rumors that have not yet been confirmed state that they have scrapped all the recent work and are starting all over.  If this is the case then the chances of seeing a new release this year are small to none.
