Review: John Mayer Plays Tonight at Carling Academy in Brixton

Aaaaa to be in London, with gray skies a bit of prolific drizzle, however in Brixton at the Carling Academy is where the light is. The fan club line is down the front side of the block, those who are trying to score tickets down the other side of the block.  The marquee says sold out!  The double decker buses shuttle to and fro, scalpers jockey to discretely sell tickets while security watches over the growing crowd.  The square is a buzz with eager expectation of their favorite rock star, John Mayer to sprinkle the pixie dust for the magic fingers dancing on the strings of his guitar.  Photos and audio sample will follow in the post show review.  Cheers.

Review: John and his merry men blew the roof off. Which was good because we really needed some fresh air as it was pretty hot in the joint.  John commented on how great the crowd was and the energy despite the "hot ass basement" conditions.  The set was great as JM wielded his guitar in SRV-like fashion, and especially enjoyed his version of Stitched.  The show concluded with Say and Robbie cranking on the Ukulele.  So if you missed it, here are some of the tasty treats from the show.  The set list is sprinkled between the photos . . .
