LIVE from Rothbury Festival: Friday, July 4th

You couldn't ask for better weather or a more beautiful setting here in Rothbury, Michigan for musical and artistic festivities.   And what a great  place to celebrate our nations independence in the land of the free.  And free it is.  The freedoms our country prides itself on in the constitution and the bill of rights are fully exercised here though art, music, fashion, and dance.  There is a great sense of community and camaraderie between campers and festival-goers.  The line-up for the day includes The Wailers, Snoop Dogg, 311, Modest Mouse, Drive-By Truckers, Widespread Panic, Sam Beam, Yonder Mountian String Band, and Primus.  There are many artists exhibits scattered around the grounds as well.  In addition to spiritual gangster yoga (which I will try tomorrow morning), circus and theater acts, there are think tank discussions and panels to raise awareness and contemplate solutions for energy independence, resource conservation, and global warming.  It is hard not to think 'green' in such a lush and green landscape.  Check back for photos and possible audio.

The Art . . .

and the Artist . . . Shrine.  A very creative and cool dude.
