Rothbury Concludes with Steel Pulse, Brett Dennen, Colbie Caillat, John Mayer, & Phil Lesh
Well, it is bitter sweet as Rothbury Festival has come to a close. Bitter as you don't want the reveling in great live music and people watching to end. Sweet because it is nice to go home to the family and things that are familiar, not to mention some semblance of a normal schedule of sleep. The final day was one worth going the distance for that is for sure. Steel Pulse got the dope smokers crawling out of their tents to start all over again, however on the Ranch Arena stage is where the core of the talent was today. Starting with Brett Dennen who proved his worthiness of being there and showed everyone what the buzz about him was all about. He may need to hire a new stylist though. Musically, he is very high fashion.

After a nice leisurely lunch, Colbie Caillat took the stage with her extremely talented band — Tim Fagan, Justin Young, Michael Baker, Mike White, and Will Gramling. The crowd grew steadily and continuously as they played on, and they did not disappoint.

A quick stage turn over to prep for John Mayer and his merry men, David Ryan Harris, Robbie McIntosh, JJ Johnson, Tim Bradshaw, Sean Hurley, Bob Reynolds, and Brad Mason and they lit it up. Security was beefed up as the band arrived which I'm sure had nothing to do with one Ms. Aniston who also was in tow to watch her new beau do what he does best. John packed the Ranch Arena to beyond capacity and entertained by way of guitar wizardry that would make SRV proud. One of the highlights of his set was the George Harrison cover, My Sweet Lord which he first broke out on the folks across the pond at Glastonbury. Next stop for the Mayer Music Machine . . . Torronto, CA.

If the Rothbury Festival eluded you for whatever reason don't fret. The major core of today can be seen
on many up and coming dates of John's tour. See johnmayer.com for details. This is the even bluesier version
of the tour you haven't seen but always wanted to.
