U2's "No Line on the Horizon" is scheduled to release March 3!

According to sources, No Line on the Horizon, U2's latest record is scheduled to hit stores March 3rd.  I was originally anticipated to be released before the end of 2008, however,  Jimmy Iovine said it deserves the extra time and should not be rushed to achieve their best work.   It was also rummored that Bono and the band were scrapping what they had written or recorded back in September and starting all over.  If that was the case, we are happy to get an album in March, good work.

"We want 09 to be our year", says Bono.  U2 is scheduled to embark on a world tour, launch a new version of their website, and release the new album, all with a new relationship with Live Nation.

I hope that the new record is more of a growth follow up to How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb and not a deviation follow up like POP was to Achtung Baby.  One fan was quoted as saying, " I hope they stay true to what they do best.  I have been a fan for 28 years but I did fall off for an album or two during the Pop and Zooropa days".  "What makes me a fan is that they stand for integrity and principal, when the evaporates so does my loyality.  It is like listening to music that stirs your soul and motivates you to do something great versus listening to some catchy hook that will be forgotten by summer."

Either way — the much anticipated 12th release from our Irish friends will be an exciting new chapter for the band that pens the soundtrack to our lives.

Rock On!
