Night 3 of U2's Letterman Residency . . . I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight . . .

Back again for a 3rd night, and finally the crowd is involved and the energy is more like a concert than a stale studio tv production set.  I think that is what was lacking last night.  U2 performed 'I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight ' from the latest No Line on the Horizon release.  It was better.  The Edge's echoing guitar harmonies bought familiarity and refreshing.  The performance itself through the first half of the song felt phoned in until Bono moved out past the camera lines and the crowd yelled and you saw everyone on their feet and into it.

This totally changed the vibe watching here at home.  I do have to give the Edge credit he is into it on this one and moving around rockin' as best he could giving the space.  As far as the song goes, well it was good, but below status quo for them.  See it for yourself.

I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight as seen on David Letterman 3/4/09
