PHOTOS AND REVIEW: GREEN DAY FINAL SHOW OF 09 TOUR @ FORUM, LOS ANGELES 8-25-09

Los Angeles, CA — The Great Western Forum was the scene for the final show of Green Day's tour with Frans Ferdinand opening.   It was explosive, figuratively and literally.  As Franz Ferdinand took the stage a few explosions went off (sounded like a shotgun) behind the stage curtain seemingly rather randomly.  Our hope was that it was not some disgruntled member of the production crew who decided to take a more postal-route on things.  Lucky for us, not the case.

Just prior to Green Day taking the stage, a large pink rabbit mysteriously appeared out of no where, 2 beers in hand and stumbling around as if these weren't the first 2 of the evening.  I was not aware that larger pink rabbits drank beer or got drunk for that matter, but learn something new everyday.

Once, Green Day took the stage the crowd erupted into a screaming unified mass of humanity jumping, cheering, dancing, yelling, moshing, in rhythm to each and every song.  I wonder if it was Billy Joe in that rabbit suit (whoever it was being clearly drunk) as he took an un-intentional dive into the photo pit.  They played for 3 hours - the set list was 23 songs long however there were some additional stuff played not on the list.

Until next time . . . Rock On!
