THOM YORKE ANNOUNCED ATOMS FOR PEACE TOUR - SUPER GROUP WITH MEMBERS FROM RADIOHEAD, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, AND REM

Los Angeles, CA - Thom Yorke announced yesterday via the Radiohead website that the super group he assembled to tour his Eraser project in the Fall of '09 has now been given the name "Atoms for Peace".  He also confirmed a small number of tour dates in New York, Boston, Chicago, Oakland, Santa Barbara, and conclude at Coachella.   I was able to attend the show at the Orpheum back in October and I must say it was quite a show.  Speaking from first hand experience, if you are a Radiohead fan or not, you definitely want to catch one of these shows.  Flea, who has been recently taking music theory at USC, is phenomenal.  As a Red Hot Chili Peppers fan, he may seem a little more reserved in comparison however his bass playing is just as soul stirring.

Atoms for Peace (also a track name from The Eraser), is made up of the following musicians:  Thom Yorke (Radiohead) - vocals, guitar, piano, Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) - Bass, Joey Waronker (REM, Beck, Smashing Pumpkins) - drums, Mauro Refosco (Forro in the Dark) - percussion and drums, and Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Beck - producer) - keys, guitar, vocals.

Here is an excerpt from what Thom posted yesterday on the Radiohead site

"hey everyone

ok so in April the other band..that i got together to do the eraser and other stuff u know .. Mauro,Flea, Me, Joey and Nigel is going back out to do some shows in the US..ending with playing with Coachella. we had too much fun to just leave it there...
