BONO RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL: U2 NORTH AMERICA TOUR DATES THIS SUMMER POSTPONED

May 25, 2010 - Bono was released from the Ludwig Maximilians-University Hospital in Munich earlier and is now under doctor's orders for rest and rehabilitation.  Apparently, there was a torn ligament and herniated disc where pieces of the disc had traveled down the spinal column and was causing some minor paralysis.  He is doing much better and should have a full recovery however this means the tour will have to wait.

Dr Muller Wohlfahrt stated, 'We are treating Bono as we would treat any of our athletes and while the surgery has gone very well, the coming weeks are crucial for a return to full health. In the next days, he will start a light rehabilitation program, with increasing intensity over the next 8 weeks. In our experience, this is the minimum time.'

According to notes from Ticketmaster and LiveNation, the tour will be postponed until 2011 and they are already working on rescheduling the shows.  However, apparently the US dates are not the only ones effected as a call to Michael Eavis of Glastonbury from Bono confirmed they will not be able to perform their headlining engaugement.  Bono has expressed a deep regret and sorrow for not being able to do what he does best in addition to letting the band and the fans down.  We know that is simply not the case.

As fans, we stand behind you and wish you a full and speedy recovery - good things come to those who wait - and we are more than willing to wait so that you can be restored to full health.  We at least have the dvd to look forward to and keep us occupied during this time.  If you are a ticket holder for any of the postponed shows your tickets are valid and will be honored for the rescheduled dates according to TM/LN.  The way I look at it is you are giving us an opportunity to excerise our patience.  God speed Mr. Hewson, God speed!
