To celebrate the recent re-issue and 30th anniversary of his classic album The Pleasure Principle, GARY NUMAN has announced he will come to North America this fall on tour. On The Pleasure Principle 2010 Tour, the modern music icon will perform in its entirety the album that climbed into the Top 20 on the U.S. charts 30 years ago propelled by his unforgettable Top 10 single “Cars.”  The shows will feature material spanning across NUMAN’s career, including tracks from his forthcoming album Splinter which he's currently working on in the U.K.

Organizers of the SUNSET STRIP MUSIC FESTIVAL have confirmed that THE SMASHING PUMPKINS will headline the street festival on Saturday, August 28, with a live performance on the legendary Strip, which is being closed to traffic for the second time in its history. The iconic band will wrap up the third annual SSMF, set to include a special tribute event for SLASH at House of Blues on August 26; live performances in The Roxy Theatre, the Whisky A Go-Go, Viper Room, Key Club, Cat Club and House of Blues on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights; plus more than 50 bands, two outdoor stages and a full day of music in the venues on Saturday, August 28.

THE SMASHING PUMPKINS—who have created one of the most acclaimed bodies of work in musical history and sold more than 30 million albums—are touring this summer in conjunction with their TEARGARDEN BY KALEIDYSCOPE project. It’s a collection of 44 songs being released online for free one at a time as well as in installments of specially packaged four-song EPs for sale in record stores. Headliners Ozzy Osbourne, Muse and Weezer are among the 100-plus acts already confirmed for the 2010 VOODOO EXPERIENCE, set for Halloween weekend—October 29, 30 and 31—at City Park in New Orleans. This year’s line-up features a mix of some of the leading talent from every genre of music including, for the first time since 2004, some of music’s top electronic artists. As is tradition at VOODOO, there will be stages that celebrate and honor the music and rich melting pot of the region. This year, these stages will be highlighted by a variety of unique collaborations between the keepers of New Orleans musical traditions with some of the younger acts adding a fresh spin. May 25, 2010 - Bono was released from the Ludwig Maximilians-University Hospital in Munich earlier and is now under doctor's orders for rest and rehabilitation. Apparently, there was a torn ligament and herniated disc where pieces of the disc had traveled down the spinal column and was causing some minor paralysis. ... << MORE >>

Bono has today undergone emergency back surgery for an injury sustained during tour preparation training. He was admitted to a specialist neuro surgery unit in a Munich hospital, and is under the care of neuro-surgeon Prof. Dr. Jorg Tonn and Dr Muller Wohlfahrt. Bono will spend the next few days there, before returning home to recuperate.

Once his condition has been assessed further, a statement will be made regarding the impact on forthcoming tour dates.
