SLASH—the iconic, Grammy-winning rock guitarist and songwriter—made a surprise guest appearance today (Sunday, February 6) at Super Bowl XLV, the biggest sporting event on the planet. SLASH performed “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” with Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas on lead vocals, at the Super Bowl XLV halftime show.

“There's is nothing cooler than performing at the Super Bowl. It’s been a terrific experience to say the least!" said SLASH.

The 2010 Super Bowl was watched by more than 106 million people, becoming the most-watched program in U.S. television history (Nielsen Co.).

SLASH released his debut solo album in 2010, the acclaimed SLASH, which bowed on the Billboard Top 200 chart at #3 (#1 on the Rock chart, #1 on the Independent chart, and #1 on the Hard Music chart). Digitally, the album also became the #1 overall digital album and hit #1 on iTunes in 13 countries. The 14-song disc features collaborations with vocalists Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Ian Astbury, Lemmy Kilmister, Chris Cornell, Rocco DeLuca, Dave Grohl, Myles Kennedy, Kid Rock, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Duff McKagan, M. According to sources, The White Stripes have announced they are done, and will not be making any new recordings or performing live anymore. There are no hard feelings between the brother and sister duo, no citing of creative differences, no issues of ill will nor ill heath to point the blame.

Apparently the blame lies at the top of numerous reasons, that being the sustain of what is pulchritudinous and extraordinary about what musical art they have created.
